Educational Textbooks / ELT

I am regularly employed as a freelancer by Pearson ELT and have also worked on numberous titles for Pearson Education and Oxford University Press These have covered the full National Curriculum; Primary, Secondary, GCSE, A level & BTEC in subjects including, Geography, History, Sciences, Languages PE, Child Care, Business, Tourism, Dance, Psychology & Healthcare.

I have also worked for Macmillan Education both in-house and remotely including picture, footage & audio research.

Books

I have also worked in mainstream book publishing most notably for Hardie Grant Books as the Picture Editor for Darcey Bussell’s book Evolved

This involved extensive research through photographer, magazine and museum archives worldwide, sorting rights and permissions and negotiating fees.

Magazines & Newspapers

I spent seven years at the Daily Mail Initially as Deputy Picture Editor of Features & Femail & then at Weekend Magazine as Deputy Picture Editor & then Picture Editor. I have since freelanced for them on an ad-hoc basis providing holiday cover and working on ‘Specials’. I have also worked for Hello! Magazine since 2023, Including the Coronation of King Charles III, souvenir issue and for the past year (2024/25) as a regular / part-time freelancer.

My experience includes:

Picture Research across a wide range of subjects including News & Current Affairs, Celebrities, History, Health, Beauty & Lifestyle, Travel, Film & TV. 

Negotiating all copyrights & fees, managing images & budgets.
